Goal :
Create a sustainable supply chain management application that helps businesses to maximize the efficiency of the supply chain as well as measure the sustainable products those are using in the business and create an analysis report on sustainable products with environment (carbon efficiency metrics). Also helps businesses to learn how to adopt the more sustainable resources in their business to be cost effective and save the environment.

My Role : Product designer is responsible for designing the sustainable supply chain management web application user research to visual design. Also performed design lead role during the project to mentor and help other 2 designers for complete their tasks.

Problem & Solution: Supply chains are facing multiple problems. Due to its inherent complexity, this process encounters various hurdles in each of its steps. From manufacturing, retailing and transportation ...etc, it can be hard to visualize the entire process. In addition, each stage of the supply chain management [product life cycle] operations and management affects negatively on the environment. That’s why this project is an initiative to help companies maximize the efficiency of their supply chain while taking into consideration sustainability objectives and the company's goals.

Business Research:
To establish the concept of sustainable supply chain management, we started research on the various small business and non profit organizations. Finally we decided to move with the Eco Friendly Business.

We finalized with the Coffee shop and fabric business to learn more about their operations and services to establish the concept for the application.
Software application Research
We did research on the software applications that are related to supply chain management operations. By the research we analyze so many different applications like sales forecasting, demand planning, inventory management, logistics, procurement, Analysis on overall supply chain management process.
Most of the software applications available in the market are complex and used for large business operations.
From these applications we finalize on the five applications for the detailed study on the supply chain management operations.

After analysis on the above application, we decided to create a customizable software for the small business and nonprofit organizations to help maximize their efficiency on their supply chain process along with the sustainability metrics and analysis on the business to help cost effective and environment safe business.

These answers helps application to create a number of department, assign to
teammates, Major operations that user is expecting to perform this application.
If the user wants to create a new task related to supply chain management application.
User can simply create an account.
While creating the account user can enter the task name associated with the department as well as with the team members.
Also user can directly upload or sync the secured files to the application to spend less time to analysis on the new and existing supply chain related data.

Next Steps
We have worked on the V1 version of the application and the application is in the development stage. If we get an opportunity to work on more time and opportunity to go with V2, V3.. Etc versions we can have more opportunity to learn more about specific areas of the application that we can improve.
Through the application we can have more opportunities to learn more about the sustainable resources that we can include in our application to help people to adapt more sustainable resources in the business.
